Safe, Natural, Liquid Eyeliners Review

Which liquid eyeliner works well?

So I tried 4 brands of natural liquid eyeliner from Nourished Life over the past few months to see which ones worked well for me.  I don’t know about you, but finding the right eyeliner was really difficult!  I made the switch from using the Lancome Artliner in Noir after using it for so many years.  Though the benefit of switching, is that these natural eyeliners costs half the price of the Lancome AND I’m not poisoning myself with harmful chemicals which can disrupt your endocrine system and can be carcinogenic too.

Here’s what I found:

  • The Quick Flick: Such an amazing invention.  I often found it hard to get my winged look right.  On one end, its a stamp for the wing, and on the other end, it’s a very sharp texta (marker).  The texta like pen is very pointy and does not need any dipping.  It is self inked as long as you store it horizontally.  The stamping part was a little difficult for me at first, because I would get the angles and the distance wrong.  All the reviews I’ve read says how much time people save and how easy it is for them to use, but for me the stamp was kind of weird.  I tried the petite 8mm stamp and I guess the angle depends on how “winged” you want it to look.  I discovered that for my eyes, perfectly horizontal and just past my top lid was the best, most natural looking angle.  The higher the slant, the fatter I had to draw my eyeliner.  If you don’t like the short petite size, it’s still so easy to draw it longer by stamping it further away.  The pen, is by far the easiest eyeliner I’ve ever used. You can easily apply as close as you want to your lashes.  Once applied, there is no room for smudging or wiping off without makeup remover.  Stays on all day, even after crying (when dabbed with tissue).  Now that I’ve had a week to get used to the stamp, I love it! It takes me hardly any time at all to apply perfect wings every morning!  I will be purchasing this eyeliner from now on.  Ordering from Nourished Life gives you free shipping for Aussies (when joining for free) and also points for discounts, so I always buy from there.
  • Mineral Fusion Liquid Mineral Eyeliner-Ebony:  This eyeliner, has a beautiful gel-like formula. Once on, it stays on.  It’s very black and also shiny.  It’s easy to remove in the shower when you kind of peel it off.  The tip is thick but very stiff, so I found it a little hard to apply, because if you apply pressure, you end up taking off the eyeliner. The formula is a little thin, but it is buildable.  It stays on well and looks very nice!
  • 100% Pure  Black Tea Long Lasting Liquid Eyeliner:  Wow, hands down for the most amazing staying power.  This eyeliner can stay on after swimming, after showering, even after using makeup remover!  I’ve had to buy a cream based makeup remover (Andalou) in order to remove it!  It is VERY black and shiny.  It comes with a very thin brush, which is what I don’t like about it, because I prefer thick felt ones.  Though if you like thin brushes, I would recommend this eyeliner for people who need it to be waterproof.  The pot also seems to be bigger than most as well.
  • Inika Certified Organic Liquid Eyeliner- Black: This eyeliner won’t run if it gets wet, however, it smudges easily when rubbed.  When wet and rubbed, it comes off really easily.  It’s great for those who would like an eyeliner that is easy to remove.  I actually like how this eyeliner looks better than the Mineral Fusion and the 100% Pure because it’s a matte black colour.  The tip is thick and slightly flexible which makes it easy to apply.  The formula is quite thick so it only needs to be applied once, which makes it easy to use.  Apart from the fact that this eyeliner isn’t waterproof, it would be my fave daily eyeliner because my eyes can get a little irritated when I have to rub the waterproof ones off so hard.

Conclusion:

The Quick Flick is my new favourite eyeliner after getting used to using the winged stamp as it’s fast, easy to apply, waterproof, great staying power, yet I can still rub it off somewhat easily in the shower.  My next favourite would be Inika as long as I keep it dry, the colour looks fabulous, easy to apply and super easy to remove.  The Mineral Fusion was a little hard for me to apply but I loved it for it’s staying power that is before I used the Quick Flick. The 100% Pure was my least favourite because my eyes can be quite sensitive and I found it SOOO difficult to remove, as well as the fact that I’m not a fan of thin brushes.
