Pamper yourself: 3 reasons why you should!

May 8, 2017

When I say pamper yourself, I don’t mean go crazy and shop till you drop or go to massage spas everyday.  I’m suggesting that you take a couple of hours to do something nice for yourself, not for your kids, your parents or your partner.

3 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD PAMPER YOURSELF:

1. You deserve it!

Yes, everybody needs some self love.  Not to “boost” your self-esteem or self confidence or whatever.  It’s because YOU DESERVE IT! Everyone is special and important in their own way.  You are worthy and valuable unconditionally. Who better to look after you than yourself?

2. Don’t deny yourself the pleasures in life.

There are plenty of reasons why we can sometimes forget to give ourselves love and attention.  “I don’t have time”, or “I don’t have enough money” or “I’d rather spend it on so and so than myself”.  Life can pass you by when you don’t plan on enjoying yourself till further down in the future when you’ve got more time, money or life in order.  Time is just another word for priorities. Schedule some time even if its just a couple of hours to do something you enjoy in peace.  It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, because there are plenty of things you can do for free.  Save a bit of your money on the side from every paycheck and spend it on yourself, even if its just $10! You’ve dedicated money to yourself, so you know this money is yours to spend and you’ll feel happy to spend it without feeling like you’re always denying yourself.

3.  Feel recharged!

Pampering yourself reminds you that you are a human-being!  You’ll end up feeling burnt out and take up other bad habits to get you through your everyday life.  Pampering yourself gives you a chance to stop, think and recharge yourself.  Let yourself go outdoors to feel the sun, nature and feel grounded again.  You’ll be amazed how nice and refreshing it feels to unwind outside.  This lets me feel recharged and ready to face a new day!

I decided I needed to get a haircut as it has started to look limp.  On top of that, I’d been feeling a bit burnt out and overwhelmed with all the tasks I had to do.  I said to my husband, how about I go get a haircut tomorrow?  He was like uh, sure, why not?  So I went to my hairdresser Jai from HairloomJ and felt so peaceful.  I got my hair washed, my head massaged, my hair cut and then curled.  I felt like a human-being again just from a cut!  There are a few reasons why I’m such a loyal customer; he always cuts it the way I ask, he cuts it in a way that’s low-maintenance for me, and he never disappoints.  A lot of my friends and family just gets their haircut at low costing salons and don’t understand why people would go to a fancy hair salon.  I love my hair when it is cut properly, so that when I style it, it’s easy peasy.  Have you ever had someone cut your bangs/fringe wrong?  It is almost impossible to style it right. And the rest of my hair takes 2 minutes to style!  Which would you choose?  I’d go for quality all the way!  If hair isn’t your thing, maybe get a massage, read a book at the park or relax at a cafe!
