Skin Repair: Promote healing naturally!

Ofttimes when emergencies happen, we get so shocked and scared that we just give our power and responsibilities away to someone else, then hope for the best.  I’m so glad my friend Tiffany is confident and assertive when it comes to helping her baby’s skin repair naturally.  Tiffany was away when the baby’s guardian accidentally spilled hot tea onto her baby’s thigh.  The baby leg was then ran under the tap of cold water.  She came home 5-10 minutes later to find her baby in that state, so she promptly took out her oils and applied it on her leg before taking her baby into the hospital.

These photos have not been fabricated and no filters have been used.  This is simply the results after consist use of essential oils from day 1-10.

These are the oils I recommended for skin repair:

Essential Oils promote tissue repair on a cellular level.  They absorb very fast through the skin and into the blood stream in 30 seconds.  Allowing your body to repair itself faster.

  • Lavender–  Is calming for the skin and supports tissue repair when the skin is damaged.  This is THE oil for burns, whether its from cooking, water, chemicals or the sun.  I always have a bottle of lavender on my kitchen bench ready, in case of an accident.
  • Tea Tree (Melaleuca)– Is the first aid oil for the skin.  It is naturally numbing, so this can help reduce the pain.  Tea Tree is also germ-killing, to keep those nasty infections  away.
  • Rose Oil– Similar to Lavender, Rose is also very calming and soothing for the skin.  Not only that, it has amazing healing properties, to reduce skin blemishes and protect the wound.

For babies: Dilute 10 drops of Lavender, 10 drops of Rose and 5 drops of Tea Tree with Fractionated Coconut Oil in a 15 ml bottle and put a spray topper on.  Multiply this by 2 for older kids. And Multiply by 4 for adults.

If possible, apply onto wound right away BEFORE running under cold water, then reapply every 10 minutes for the first hour in between running under cold water.  Go to the hospital to get it checked out and bandaged.  Afterwards, spray onto wound every  2-3 hours after that if possible.  Otherwise, just spray in between dressings.  It’s best not to touch wounds in case of infection.

For less serious burns, apply lavender directly on the wound right away BEFORE running it under cold water.  Apply every 10 minutes for half a hour, and then 2-3 hours until gone.

Once wound is closed, you can add a couple of drops of peppermint oil to sooth the itching when the tissue starts repairing.

Floral oils have great healing properties and are all very calming.  So if you don’t have these oils on hand, you can use any floral oils you have.

Other oils for tissue repair:

Geranium, helichrysum, roman chamomile, blue tansy, frankincense, lemongrass, basil, sandalwood, correct-x ointment, myrrh, sallubelle (immortelle) beauty blend, jasmine and neroli.

Use essential oils consistently throughout the day, everyday, to promote healing for tissue repair and reduce any skin blemishes. If you don’t already have doTERRA’s certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils in your home, please contact me or click on my button below to get yours today.
